Democracy has left us alone. This is the main hypothesis (in my opinion), of this movie. The main character (Clint Eastwood) is an admirable portrait of the simple, hardworking man, but conscious of their independence, their rights, in his absence by how things are going, (sons) and very importantly, it keeps at bay the Church, represented in this case by a young priest looking for who agrees to bring the collar and chain, unconditionally: this is not the case that Eastwood keeps it at bay throughout the film as a dangerous and sinister person. Excellent workshop garage meaning, typical of people who moved for to solve problems or to experiment innovative ideas that often gave excellent results. What is that America would not be America if not many homes had a garage / workshop.

The "Moon" are immigrants but most of all, are a power that has migrated with the" whole team", as a system. And of course, are not democrats and they are on the lookout.
When Eastwood come in contact with them (for the attempted rape) Moon flooded the home of Eastwood with delicacies of their culture, but we do not be fooled: it's primitivism, ignorance and of course, tries "to win" Eastwood for them, who has already made a great favor. This coincides with the Catholic priest.

The street gangs are not a power but a detritus caused by power, and unconsciously in their primitivism, they take the forms of power wich is essentially primitive. To require that someone pay because the road is of them, is the same that governments, municipalities in general, do. With violence, (police, jail) if necessary.

The film is pessimistic, very pessimistic. In fact, Eastwood was suicidal (no future for democracy and sincerelly democrats) and bequeathed his property to the Church, at least in this film, the Church has not been able to achieve all its objectives. A bitter end: we would have liked to see the priest suspended from a hook, accidentally of course.
And at the bottom of everything, the car, the great battlefield of the current crisis, while Obama seeks to deceive us with his "titanic" struggle against AIG. Shameful.

We must don´t forget:

• Russia threatens to "thaw" themselves arming heavily and massively.
• France, returns to NATO as a full member.
• Sickening "aesthetics" in Austria (Europe) with their adult and daughters.
• Merkel that begs an invasion, I suppose because she is of Leipzig.
• Obama makes silly with Iran, when in his electoral program spoke of the East-West. (The war).

And there are many things that I do not know. Many.
