Silas is the name of a character from "the da vinci code"; a cold murderer character however, a great devotee of impositions, obedience, and other virtues that make him a very special chosen being by his superiors of the Order (the Opus Dei) . Silas is the murderer of this distinguished institute. A murderer quite reminiscent of "no country for old men" murderer. A gangster without Gang. Or better: his gang is an institution of universal influence, catholic. In the end, Silas dies poisoned by his bishop with something that contains peanut butter to which Silas is allergic.

But who has not read the da vinci code? (or viewed the movie) . In any case, I only talk about it because if Silas goes to the cinema (getting the cilice, of course) must not expend the time very happy because I think US, through cinema, is defending itself very well of the kingdom of darkness in that lurks religious "thing". In "there will be blood" Silas shift is very well described. The struggle between human man and the "divine" man is indicated very exactly and I believe they have hit successful without touch the registration of the epic of greatness in the movie. Only work and ambition.

Indeed, in Spain they had translated the title like "Wells of Ambition." But it is still a great movie... and don´t hesitate: a kind of Silas sees these movies.
