C'EST LA GUERRE (36)

— Now I understand it Colonel. It´s very clear the reason for your visit. — I said while the Colonel delivered me a large envelope wax sealed, addressed to my Special attention.

— Yes, sir. The high command has considered appropriate that you should be informed on special way given the cheeky and shameful final results of the experiment. — Replied the colonel — This envelope contains a full report with all details relating to the "no power" experiment, sir.

— It's understandable. The experiment results concern particularly to this country and to this government.

— Thank you Colonel. Information is power but when it comes from the power as this envelope, usually it is another thing. — I told him while I signed for him some bureaucratic and meticulous acknowledgments of receipt.

— Here it is, Colonel — I gave him the signed documents.

— Thank you, Sir, — He replied and he saved receipts in a paper bag with closure and cord.

— I am authorized to transmit your conclusions if these occur, to the superiority if you want to forward them immediately. — The colonel answered.

— I was thinking about it, Colonel. — I said — but it will not be necessary; with more time and reflection, I will present a written report to the High Command.

— Right, sir — said the colonel.

— One thing is clear, colonel: the experiment is absolutely secret and it should continue being absolutely secret. — I suggested thinking out loud.

— Indeed, sir. — He responded.

— And should not someone to consider the subject of this experiment in relation to the UN?. It is very strange that inmates did not choose the UN as the headquarters of their "tribe-intelligentsia" to govern the world which is what they want to in some way, i.e. with all their heart. Nor they have classed correctly their enemies (we and their superiors.)
We lack faith, Colonel — I say with irony and humor — But in this country they will have found with the door in their face. I hope they continue indefinitely in the labor camp all of them.

— Indeed, sir. — said the colonel — Maybe they achieve to confuse History with their wishes, sir. It is a document that takes for granted too many things.

— And the main things, Colonel. Undoubtedly they are very realistic historically, that is, according their mental representation of the world. They know the history as if they were their authors. — After a brief pause, I continue — and their relationship with God has some of immanent, invariable at least. Believe me, Colonel, everything that takes me away from my military responsibilities, bothers me greatly. All this mental masturbation called policy .. "or political will"...

— I understand you, sir. I also find myself away from what is properly the psychology and psychiatry, my specialties.— He responded. And he added — Maybe sir, we worry too much about a simple experiment which we began and which we ended.

I left to pass a pause in the conversation. Then I asked him:

.— In relation to your work, Colonel,  how  are you in the subject of dreams interpretation?. — I understand that I leave the official issue aside but after all, the experiment is already old news.

— We consider dreams as interpretation and usable material, sir. — He said.

—You will see, Colonel, I have some pretty strange dreams.. I can not understand if they are on them some tracks that may help me in performing my job. And my life.

— Go ahead, sir, I am at your disposal. — The Colonel said kindly.

— The fact is that some time ago ...

And I step by telling him my Roman dream with all details I remember.

Soon, the Colonel adds with a smile :

— Obviously, sir, you saw Ben-Hur movie with Charlton Heston and Stephen Boyd.

— indeed colonel. In my already distant childhood. I guess that's the least dark of my dream. — I said

— As you tells me, sir, and without being one hundred percent accurate, your dream is rather informative, someone tells you that your work is being done well (wining all battles) but you are a prisoner of your office. You learned Latin while you was a prisoner of the Hare Krishna.

— And what do you suggest to me, Colonel?

— As far as possible, sir, you must increase your hours of freedom. If the prison means your current responsibilities, you must get out a little every day. I see no reason, sir, for you to resign the post. I also see no need for any medication but it must adhere to the "probation.", figuratively speaking, sir.

— Thank you so much, colonel. Out of prison as far as I can. And so stop talking Latin.

— Exactly, sir — He answered.
