  • WHY SALAMANCA?

I have just seen "vantage point" and I can´t explain the relationship of Salamanca, Spain, on the subject. Salamanca is a city with an old university-Hispanic "folkloric" who believes that everything continues as the Spanish gold century on which apparently, Salamanca enjoyed great prestige. Unless in this city somebody knows something special about terrorism in Spain I see no clear the alusión posed by the film. And on the other hand, I don´t believe in the matches.

I do not agree with what is said in the film that there will always be terrorism, which will always be politicians, whether they will be able to solve terrorism or not, It shows that terrorist and politician are quite roughly the same thing.

Salamanca is a kind of hard core of Spanish Catholicism, traditional and has not proved to be very forefront on issues of democratic Spain.

We live at the visual time; the movie "rewinds" several times to report the fact from several points of view. (Some complained at the venue), I liked it but this movie has the disadvantage of repeating the same act. It mimics that of seeing what is in the various security cameras when something has happened. Including a touristic camera: Forest Whitaker.

The best thing about the film for me was Sigourney Weawer: a journalistic "beast" that perhaps is already disappearing. I regretted that his role was not longer. I liked also the main character: very splendid job.
